My router does not loose configuration but I want to increase the SNR a bit from 6 to 8.
but the adslctl command is not preserved.
I do see some save configuration but I am not sure if this save has to do with the adslctl commands

Ah, I see.

It is not the SNR but the target SNRM that you would like to increase. Unfortunately there is no way of saving such an adjustment in the device configuration.

Recently I noticed another problem.
I temporary use an external access point and i tried to disable 8924's internal wifi.
If i disable the 2.4 I see the 5g enabled, I go and I disable the 5g and then I see the 2.4g enabled.
Strange behavior
I disabled both from the config file. The status shows that both are disable. I go to the wireless page to
see them and i see one of them is again enabled.
Have you seen that before?
Can you try to disable them for few mins to see if you have the problem?

Can you go to the wireless page and check it?
Don't click it but just see the page.
The status page shows that are disabled but as soon as I go to the wireless page
shows that are enabled or at least one

Hi Folks my VMG8324-B10A has been running fine for ages now with V14 firmware, however i have now noticed that I can no longer access the "home Networking" tab just responds with a blank page. everything else is fine. Used Firefox, Safari and Chrome all with the same results. Have restarted the router and reinstalled the saved config file but still the same problem.

Any thoughts? Thanks Ae

If you have a locked Eircom F1000, you can download a modified copy of the latest (v.20) firmware by following the link below. The modification brands the firmware as Eircom so as to be acceptable to your router.

Why use this version instead of de-branding it completely and using stock firmware?

Flashing the latest v.20 firmware, with an Eircom header, in effect unlocks the F1000. When the v.21 firmware is released, the F1000 should accept it. No need to open the router and do the unlock procedure.

Can you flash the original V20 in order to try that the router is unlocked instead of waiting the v21?

Just purchased a VMG8324 and intend to use in only as a modem in bridge mode, is there any reason not to just flash the latest v20 firmware? Do the older beta ones perform any differently?

I don't believe the actual modem driver (the BCM bit) has changed for some time.
Personally I tend to use the latest version to ensure known security holes are patched.
The only time I wouldn't' update is if the newest version had known issues, which in this case it does not appear to.

Honestly I was running v18 in bridge mode since release with no issues to report. I upgraded to v20 this morning as I forgot - it went smoothly and I don't expect any problems.
