Tales for the Leet: Romeo and Juliet
« on: September 02, 2006, 04:45:57 PM »

Having just posted in the 2 words thread about l33t speak..  I thought I'd share a link to something that mr_chris sent me several years ago.

Although I thought it was funny ...  Im afraid you have to be a bit geeky to "get it"....
It also vastly helps if you were one of the early adopters to the net in the days prior to msn, and chat  communication was via IRC.

Back then a chan would be full of possible 14y/os sat thinking they were uber cool l337 h4x0rs for using leet spk.
Many of the phrases and spk is exactly what you could have seen.

Anyhow the link

I hope you realise that you're pandering to my own prejudices. I truly hate the degradation of the English language which results from texting and similar activities.

Blimey! Something me & Mr Roseway agree on. :o :o :o

When I text I don't abbreviate and I do punctuate!
