Monitors
« on: January 11, 2013, 07:01:34 PM »

I need a monitor urgently. Im an Iiyama fan so would like to stick with them.

Was looking at the Iiyama E2407HDS-B £143.00 when I came across the E2482HSD for £129.60.

Am I missing anything obvious other than:-

Dearer version has a HDMI (graphics card has 2xDVi 1xHDMI)
Dearer version has slightly better speakers (not bothered)
Dearer version has 2ms response time v 5ms (Would I really notice?)
Dearer version is slightly larger.
Cheaper version says LED backlit, whereas cant see anything for dearer version.  Is this important?

Which would you go for and is there a reason why.
Cheers.

LED backlighting is newer technology, and likely to be more stable and reliable. I use an LED backlit monitor specifically because it was rated highly for photo editing.

The difference in response time is (in my opinion) unimportant unless you spend your time looking at fast moving video with a magnifying glass.

My choice would be the cheaper one, mainly for its LED backlighting.

Cheers eric for speedy response.   :flower:
Was just about to order the LED one anyhow which Ive just found slightly cheaper still at Scan, and although next day delivery bumps it up a bit I chucked in something else which Ive been meaning to get anyhow... but was waiting until I placed a larger order/or was passing.

Just a follow up on this.

Monitor (E2482HSD-GB1) was ordered from Scan for slightly cheaper price of £125.98.  I know e-buyer does free delivery for normal postage but I couldnt wait the up to 5 days.  Next day delivery with Scan had an excellent tracking service and the couriers even text you with an estimated delivery time  so you arent hanging around all day.  The monitor was with me by 10.35 am.   Been using it a few days now and very happy with it.
