From that result, I assume TalkTalk only provide a 40/2 Mbps VDSL2 package?

You mention that you have a Huawei FTTC but have been provided with an ECI B-FOCuS modem. I prescribe a quick eBay search:P

Correct, they cap at 2mbps, even though i'm syncing at 10meg according to the engineers JDSU

Yes I have taken a look and will consider it, the ECI seems very stable though and I've no complaints in terms of performance, although, I currently don't have it wall mounted, it doesn't seem to get too hot, but is it a consideration I should wall mount it? i.e. blutack ;)

Just a couple of quick points.

With regards to matching the CPE to the FTTC DSLAM, our Bald_Eagle1 has quantitative data which shows that using a Huawei CPE with an ECI DSLAM is sub-optimal. So by inverting that scenario, I would be suspicious of using an ECI CPE with a Huawei DSLAM -- as you currently are so doing. As you are interested in your connection statistics, then it seem to be a logical choice to procure a HG612 modem and unlock it.

It is recommended that all Openreach provided active CPEs (be they Huawei or ECI) are mounted (or otherwise suspended) in a vertical plain, thus allow free exit of warm air at the top and entrance of cooler air at the bottom. Any method of supporting the device in a vertical plain, rather than lying horizontal, will undoubtedly be beneficial.

I shall definitely look into that in the new year but currently have no need for stats as everything is working fine.

Although if I do upgrade to the faster package I'll consider getting one :)

Wall mounted it with the trusty blue tack and it's running notably cooler already :)

For those interested:

Openreach have advised us that they have repaired a possible fault with an underground cable.

Seems it may have all been a coincidence  ???
