WARNING about dual booting windows 7 & 8
« on: September 16, 2012, 04:03:03 PM »

For those that may be using Windows 7 in a manner that isn't "strictly" legal - or have a legal version of Windows 7 and are looking to dual boot windows 7 and windows 8 together.

The new installation of windows 8 will cause your windows 7 activation to check itself again - for the most part you will see the windows will automatically reactivate itself in 3 days message under computer properties.

If you have a legal version of windows 7 - and lets face it 95% of us do! all you need to do is click activate now - it may ask you to re-insert the license key. and will validate no problems.

If on the other hand you don't have a legit copy of windows 7 and are wondering what to do - you have two choices - do the right thing and get a windows 7 license or find a boot loader.

This only effects people dual booting with an RTM or final release/retail version of windows 8 - this does not apply to the release preview of windows 8.
