It is not a self-install product BCat
I agree with Burrakkucat I was unsure with some BT guy coming in and Installing FTTC because I made a few changes since BT where last in my house 30 years ago, I think the engineer does not have much time to question you about our DIY attempts

Knowing the Cost of the upgrade would be nice

The probable snag with costings is that the people who "need" it the most are the furthest from the cabinet, so installation costs are likely to be high for the ducted fibre from the cabinet element etc.

Gentlefolk,
From a practical viewpoint the existing ECI FTTC fibre arrangements do not lend themselves to many direct fibre connections:-

Perhaps a few more fibres might be available in a local quad-tube joint, but if significant fibre distribution is to become a reality it seems a new type of street cabinet or the poorer GPON pit-based distribution pods must be accommodated ?
Kind regards,
Walter

Whilst it's good that the techie solutions exist to go up to 300+ meg, surely no domestic user NEEDS anything like that sort of speed...is it a case of the already-fast getting faster at the expense of investment to help the slower (>2meg and not-spots) users
??

That is a good point,

As for
Baldy_Bird
's quest, I have come across another possible solution --
BT Wholesale Ethernet GEA and Managed Install
Apparently
Andrews & Arnold
are
attempting
to
supply it
