Good words but a little way off reality
« on: November 10, 2011, 11:22:21 AM »

Gentlefolk,

You might like to read of Ofcom's latest pronouncement.

Meanwhile today we are struggling with cables such as this one which has been in this condition since 1988 and is due to form part of a FTTC solution sometime next year.

The picture below shows the resulting performance.

Kind regards,
Walter

Walter -- Is it really "Cobbelrs Brook"? Perhaps a typo?  :-\

I shudder to think what will be the condition of the plant in the next jointing chambers adjacent to the bridge!  ::)

Hi BK,

Typo as usual !

I wouldn't concern yourself too much after all BT haven't since 1988 and the lines, without  a USO, still connect most of the time and the punters keep paying for the atrocious service as they have no other option.
At present in Ewhurst even the BT speedtester is refusing to work.

Kind regards,
Walter

Typo as usual !

Oops! :o

I am quite surprised that some dubious characters (of the "travelling community") have not had one of their open-back lorries down into the brook to tow away that cable and pipe for their "scrap-metal collection".

It is well worth going to the FAQ on the BT superfast site where it is becoming apparent that BET and 'up to 2mb' is what the rurals can expect from our £830million
