The Ethernet cable from my router to a HomePlug crosses the floor. That means either I pile of surplus cable or the cable being strung , both of which are untidy and capable of being hazardous.
Suggestions, please, how I can make the cable safe. The flooring is wood laminate.

longer ethernet lead round the skirting perhaps and clip it with some cable clips round the room to where you need it.

I have a long Ethernet cable lying on the floor and abutting the skirting board. It traverses two sides of the room.
Obviously if there is a door opening then the above method is ruled out.

You can get pretty good flat cables now, really good for running around the edges of rooms near the skirting

You could possibly even run it under the laminate if you could lift enough of a stretch to feed it through.

Thanks guys! I was wondering about taking a direct route. What then?

Something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Effect-Cable-Organizer-Floor-Threshold/dp/B008NMHT0Q (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Effect-Cable-Organizer-Floor-Threshold/dp/B008NMHT0Q)....wood effect or perhaps just plain black https://www.amazon.co.uk/D-Line-CC-1-Protector-Protection-Prevent/dp/B0078NU4C6 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/D-Line-CC-1-Protector-Protection-Prevent/dp/B0078NU4C6)
