Title: Technicolor TG589VAC v1
Post by: pintosal on January 08, 2018, 11:28:20 AM
I've had SSE broadband and ADSL, which was fine but a little slow. The supplied router was a Technicolor TG589VAC (I assume v1 since later models have v2 etc), which performed very well.

Very recently I switched to SSE fibre/VDSL, and I was sent a Technicolor TG589VAC v2. It all seems to work OK.

I now have a spare Technicolor TG589VAC v1, but it seems that other ISPs offer it with their fibre broadband.

I'd like to know if the v1 does indeed support VDSL. But I'm reluctant just to plug it in and try it as I've only just started the 10 day training period.

Does anyone know if the v1 does indeed work with fibre - if so I will keep it as a backup?

Yes, the V1 will work with VDSL (I used one for a while).

Does anyone know which VDSL chipset will be used in the V1 ?
BCM63168 ?
