Title: HEC errors - do these include correctable 1-bit errors?
Post by: hake on January 05, 2018, 11:46:46 AM
My TG585v8 (PlusNet supplied) router shows the aggregate HEC errors but not how many are correctable 1-bit errors. Downstream HEC errors outnumber downstream CRC errors by at least a factor of ten. Could that be an indication that the aggregate HEC error count includes 1-bit correctables?

I observe that my upstream CRC and HEC errors are very few.

According to the ITU-T ADSLx documents, HEC errors are never corrected on ADSL.

Thank you ejs. That puts me out of my misery.
