Bottm line though, if a person wants decent data around the house, and understands why WiFi and homeplugs cannot ever be relied upon, wouldn’t they just drill a hole in the door frames & skirting boards for a proper Cat 5 cable? ???
Well this is obviously for people who for whatever reason can't or won't do that (https://www.reddit.com/r/homelab/comments/7lgzot/getting_cat5e_through_doors_in_my_flat/).
I have some flat network patch cables a couple of meters long, can't be thicker than 1.5mm and have never been aware of any issues.
It actually states CAT 6 Flat cable Laneed ELECOM on the cable.
