Title: Google equations
Post by: sevenlayermuddle on December 19, 2017, 06:52:28 PM
Has anyone (or eveyone) noticed, if you go to google’s homepage and type an equation into the search box, such as ‘1234/6.97’, a useful calculator appears?

Works on iPad Safari at least.   I ceased to be a fan of Google when they ceased to claim they were “not being evil”.   But evil or not, evidence sometimes emerges that they have good talent on board.  :)

Don't all (or most) search engines do that? I just tried DuckDuckGo, Bing and Ecosia, which all gave the same result. You don't need to go to any special page, just enter it into the search box from wherever you are.

Google has done that for years  :P
They also do instant conversions like length/weight/currency/bytes-bits.

Ah well, so much for that.  And I only noticed a few months ago, thought it was cool.    :(

Maybe, as the saying goes, I need to get out more. :D
