Does changing the noise margin work with this router when G.INP is enabled
I want to increase the default magrin from 3dB to 4.5dB or 6dB to stop it dropping out
What number should I input assuming that it works

I'm pretty sure SNRM adjustments on devices Broadcom chipsets will only work on ADSL, not VDSL2, unlike on the DrayTek where it actually works on VDSL2 as an offset. If I'm right then you just need to cap the sync rate instead (which does work on devices with Broadcom chipsets). It's something like 'xdslcmd configure --maxDataRate [downstreamKbps] [upstreamKbps] 100000', where downstreamKbps and upstreamKbps are values of your choice.

which I assume would require telnet access - need to think about that

done and worked - now to watch the errors before tweaking the speed up a bit
Connection speed (kbps): 40000 8933
SNR margin (dB): 6.2 6.1

now running at 42Mb with no problems
Uptime: 6 days 13 hours 22 min 7 sec
Resyncs: 0 (since 11 Dec 2017 10:44:53)
Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 21.2 0.0
Signal attenuation (dB): Not monitored
Connection speed (kbps): 41999 8990
SNR margin (dB): 4.8 5.8
Power (dBm): 12.9 6.9
Interleave depth: 8 4
INP: 55.00 45.00
G.INP: Enabled Enabled
Vectoring status: 5 (VECT_UNCONFIGURED)

Update - I didn't re-enable the speed restriction after a power cut and now look at what I have
Uptime: 3 days 21 hours 37 min 13 sec
Resyncs: 0 (since 09 Jan 2018 11:57:49)
Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 21.2 0.0
Signal attenuation (dB): Not monitored
Connection speed (kbps): 49707 7823
SNR margin (dB): 3.4 5.5
Power (dBm): 13.2 4.1
Interleave depth: 4 1
INP: 51.00 0
G.INP: Enabled Not enabled
Just to add - upstream error seconds are now high as G.INP and interleaving have been removed for whatever reason
