Title: Does anyone know much about bitcoin?

Does anyone know much about bitcoins and how to obtain them?

I've been reading a few articles about it, specifically about mining them. I've even noticed some people have setup a raspberry pi to mine them.

Does anyone mine or trade in bitcoins?

If you do;

What service do you use?

What would you recommend for a beginner?

Any good sources of knowledge I can look up, videos or websites etc?

I've used them a few times. always used blockchain (https://blockchain.info)

I did a bit Bitcoin mining 5+ years ago just out of interest/fun so I'm well out of the loop now. Is it even viable today to mine Bitcoin without investing many hundreds of pounds in custom silicon?

I've looked into a little and it doesn't seem viable without a lot of investment in powerful hardware, and there's the cost of electricity.  I can't see a Raspberry Pi  mining much, powerful GPU's or dedicated hardware are required to mine anything worthwhile.
