I'll take a look and see if mine is still working when I get a chance.

Now I'm on my PC I can see better, old links still work, but with the site refresh they have updated the link and it now fails my link validation.

I'll need to issue an update to rectify this.

sorry to say that the graph displays 0k but is not refreshing so remaining blank

Post by: Ronski on May 07, 2017, 12:44:34 PM
That's odd, just tested on mine, set the update period to 1 minute and it certainly appears to be updating, certainly not staying blank.

I changed nothing to do with the displaying of the graph, only the validation of the URL. You say the graph displays OK, but is remaining blank - does it display OK on Think Broadband.

It should refresh once when switching to the tab, does the time update when changing tabs?

Could you also post your graph link please?

I was logged into my TBB account when I attempted to access the image and I guess you were just trying as a passing visitor?  :-\

Yes, that I understand. I think you will need to refer the problem to TBB themselves.  :-\

The problem is at TBB end, and I've no idea why it's blank.

They have changed the web address from what it was to HTTPS mode since i generated a new link after logging into the think broadband main site this is working perfectly with MDWS  Why it wouldn't also work with the Stats software GUI ???

Ok after running a couple of tests   i found prior to the update it would not accept HTTPS , After it it now accepts HTTPS and it works as intended and also refreshes fine for me  using the same link as below

So it should look like the first part of this link https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/ddca58c3025df5a63f306a22adbe2ba01cc05dfb-07-05-2017.png

All the existing stored links for this on MDWS were updated using the existing entries at around 15:00 on the 5th May after working out what had changed when the routine that harvests them started erroring.

So no one needs to go and alter their stored data on MDWS unless it's not working. There are only a couple that appear to have a problem, one of which is rolocollie, possibly generating a new link might cure this?

I did do mine manually  as soon as the tbbqm was available again, I did wonder if others would sus it out or not , but  a big thanks on their behalf for your time and efforts

Try making a new monitor and see if that works.

The TBB help page explains everything about these graphs with examples EXCEPT what we are seeing here  :'(

Try posting an example of your blank graph on TBB to show them exactly what you mean....

On the Broadband Quality monitor page it states this and lists an email address,  so perhaps email them.

Taking that link shows me the attached plot . . .
Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: Ronski on May 09, 2017, 04:42:59 PM
Well I've tried that link here and it works fine, no error's, and it is recording something from just after 2pm.

All my code does to verify the link is valid is make sure it starts with https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/ or the old form of URL and also that it ends in .png

It doesn't do anything else to verify the link.
Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: tbailey2 on May 09, 2017, 04:51:07 PM
So it might but it should now say 4pm at the far right as most of the other 60+ I can see do....

I'd suggest that possibly neither of the two URLs the OP is using are correct/current.

Good point Tony, certainly something odd going on, the trace now starts at 2pm, it was after 2pm as can be seen in BC's attachment.

Agreed. Something very odd (or weird).
Title: Re: Ping graph

The OP appears to have changed the MDWS URL  as I can now see that the thumbnail shows what I was seeing (dating back many hours) but the live graph is the other one  ??? . Might be an idea to go and check on TBB what the account status shows for valid monitors, delete any and start again?

EDIT

It seems to be working and updating past 4pm now unless it's a new monitor...

Capture 1 sorry about that meant to put them together
Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: Ronski on May 10, 2017, 06:54:33 AM
There is nothing wrong with my program, the problem is with Thinkbroadband, there is nothing I can do. My reasoning for this is as follows.

1. When I click on the link you supplied I get the attached graph, which is clearly wrong, this was captured just now at 06:27 yet only shows up to 4pm.
2. The refresh time in the picture of my app you posted is 4:15am, 2 minutes prior to the screen crab being taken - last stats at 4:17.
3. The fact that the refresh time is updated means the code has successfully fetched a graph from TBB.
4. When I click on your graph on MWDS it show's a different graph (the codes under the name are different), but that still does not show correctly. It starts at 6pm and the last time is 4am, it should be 6am
5. I've changed no code for displaying the images and no one else is having issues.
6. Tony has said other users are showing similar issues
7. Similar issues are evident here https://community.plus.net/t5/custom/page/page-id/_PingGraphs
8. It's clearly a problem with TBB!

Your basically saying your car radio is not working because the station it's tuned to is having technical difficulties!

Seeing as you've posted your IP address your using in that last screen shot, I've taken the liberty of creating a monitor to see if it works.

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/share/fe0f3278c05adbb5df07006850efa96c34247bca.png

And so far it doesn't, I'd really expect it to show 6am on there, but it doesn't. It now showing a green trace, but still does not show 6am.

The problem is with TBB and there is nothing else I can do, so please stop inferring the problem is with my software, it isn't.

Sorry if you think that, nothing is further from the truth so consider the matter closed
Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: Ronski on May 10, 2017, 10:19:58 AM
Well it still needs resolving with TBB, and it would be useful for others if we know what the issue is. I believe it is something internal to TBB, some sort of problem creating the image.

It is very weird though that the URL that is in his MDWS config IS updating and is current from about 18:30 YESTERDAY right up to to now (attached) - the only thing missing is the vertical white day marker for some reason.

I thought TBB only allowed you to create one monitor per IP address but there are at least two around that work?
Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: Ronski on May 10, 2017, 01:18:13 PM
The results appear to be inconsistent,  when I checked the graph on MDWS  this morning it wasn't displaying correctly,  it should have shown 6am on the graph and it didn't.

It's got to be something to do with the system that creates the graphs, as it seems so erratic.

PS the one I set up this morning now seems to be displaying correctly,  perhaps it's  been fixed or its just currently working.

I don't know if this is related or not but on MDWS for me (same username as here) the graph displayed top rhs links to https://www.mydslwebstats.co.uk/HG612-LT.php even though it is displaying the correct graph from TBB.

Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: tbailey2 on May 11, 2017, 08:43:38 AM
No not related. That's just the file that provides the popup window to load the requested graph (which isn't seen in the link you provided)...

I see that the OPs BQM on MDWS is now working fine and displays the Date line that was missing as does the Test one you set up. For the URL that was provided to MDWS, I'd suggest it's left as it is .... Still don't see how you can have two live graphs for the same IP...

Looking at the code and your screen grab, looks like a browser problem, can't say I've never come across Pale Moon but I see it is Mozilla based.  Or maybe something in your setup? It works fine in Firefox and Waterfox + Windows 10 But that's for my user name).  I've put some debug code in as the reason looks obvious to me so maybe you could try it again please - I may see what the problem is from here?
Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: roseway on May 11, 2017, 04:03:52 PM
It's Pale Moon, not Paul Moon. :) It's derived from an earlier version of Firefox with added privacy enhancements and all newer security improvements backported to it. I'd be very surprised if it's causing this problem, but I've been surprised before.
Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: tbailey2 on May 11, 2017, 04:04:58 PM
Oops - Typo.

Thanks but the debug doesn't help and still says it's the Browser (or maybe OS)   :-\ I'll look at it again when I can.
Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: Browni on May 11, 2017, 04:06:39 PM
I've tried again with the same results, I also tried Microsoft Edge which doesn't show the graph but displays what looks like a broken link placeholder.
Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: tbailey2 on May 11, 2017, 04:21:01 PM
It is probably working now? Looks like that when I updated all the links after TBB changed to https and a used a new link for the graphs, I missed yours! :-[

EDIT
Maybe not - just installed Pale Moon same version as you are using and   - it won't work on my user name, same problem as you. I'll have a look but will have to wait as I'm off to see a film preview I'm involved with and won't be back until Sunday...

Title: Re: Ping graph
Post by: Browni on May 11, 2017, 04:55:36 PM
I thought I had it tied down to just Palemoon being problematic as on Windows 7 it also didn't work where IE did but Edge still doesn't work for me either

Thanks for taking an interest and I hope you enjoy your film preview.
