I'm sure I have asked this before, but it has perhaps been a while.
Does anyone know of any good (new) speed testers that do not require flash?
The ones I know of are
Ookla - has another name too, I forget
speedof.me

Found testmy.net (http://testmy.net) the other day - looks interesting.
Haven't used it enough yet to draw any firm conclusions.

TestMy.Net and TBB are my goto speed test sites.
TestMy.Net gives the option for repeated automated testing and is a single thred test so tends to give it you warts and all.
I still think the TBB test is the one that provides the more useful information, although I prefer the damped flash version to the non-Flash version.
The other name you are thinking for Ookla is probably speedtest.net, although it is also used by quite a lot of ISPs. I'm pretty certain that is a flash based test though.
Speedof.Me is conceptually a really good test, however it must overstate the results. Just ran it on my 80/20 line and got the following:
Download Speed: 80.35 Mbps
Upload Speed: 20.17 Mbps
which is a little improbable.

I discovered testmy.net - I think it's US-only so a bit dubious over here.
-
TestMy.Net has London servers.
-
So it has, I stand corrected. I didn't see it in the list.

They have a non-flash version as well (still in beta).

I don't rely on any of them. I use iPerf3 (https://iperf.fr/) direct from my router to one of my VPSes hosted in London.

I've only used Iperf on private WANs (typically for acceptance testing). Do you happen to know if there are any UK public servers?

ill set one up and pm you tonight

Cheers. Although having said that, it's only going to test upload speed isn't it?

Doesn't look like it sadly. You can use mine if you want :)

No, both directions. You use the option -R to reverse the connection.
-R, --reverse run in reverse mode (server sends, client receives)

I sent the pm, sorry for the delay.
