Title: NTE 5C MK4 Ethernet Socket?
Post by: mhisani on March 03, 2017, 11:23:58 AM
Greetings all

Got a friend who's having his net setup today and he's noticed his faceplace has a phone socket and an RJ45 socket... So we're a bit bamboozled how we're meant to set this up with the plusnet one or even a openreach modem. Since we expected RJ11..

Someone able to tell me what we're missing?

Many thanks

The socket on the NTE5 is a dual standard type that will accept RJ11 or RJ45 plugs.

All of the filtered MK faceplates have RJ45 sockets. It takes both RJ11 and RJ45 connectors. Personally I've purchase a custom made cable with an RJ45 connector at 1 end, and RJ11 at the other end. However it's absolutely fine to use the standard RJ11 to RJ11 cable provided with your modem.
