Title: "Normal Login IP address:" field to support domains
Post by: deanwade on February 23, 2017, 06:27:21 PM
So that DSLStats can be run from via the Internet could the "IP address:" field of the "Normal Login" tab be modified to accept domain names such as those used by DDNS services?

Being able to resolve domain addresses would also be required so gateway & DNS settings would be required.

This would allow DSLStats to be run externally to capture router data from a remote DSLStats instance including Amazon's "Elastic Compute Cloud" (EC2) virtual service and remove the need for DSLStats hardware at the router property.

For increased security it would be desirable to be able to use the full port number range rather than those popular for telnet.

It's a nice idea, but I don't think I'm going to be able to do it in the near future, if at all. Sorry.
