Had a walk around Carsington Water on Sunday, On the side of the B5035 road near the reservoir was this thing in the field, maybe an aerial or beacon ?.

Anyone know what it is for ?.

There's an identical one near Dover as well, I think they are some sort of radar station, but would be interesting to know what they are.

I was under the impression that they are part of the UK's set of beacons for air traffic control, but I may be wrong.
