Title: Might come back to win10
Post by: Chrysalis on November 20, 2016, 03:12:03 AM
Here is the story.

I brought a Z83 mini PC thinking it was a proper NUC to use with pfsense but then realised its a locked down unit with windows 10 use only. (I am assuming is win10 home).

I may well just resell the Z83, but I found combined with my mini keyboard/mousepad device (is same size as the mini PC) it has a really compact footprint and could definitely have some nice use.

So if I decide to give this device some use I will be involved again with windows 10 since I cannot change the OS on it. :)

In case you do and didnt know win 10 dhcp6 has been broken since the windows 10 anniversary update. The only way I can get my clients to get a valid dhcp ipv6 lease from the pfsense box is to run an ipconfig /renew6 on logon via task scheduler etc. If not they still allocate an ipv6 address but its not one from the pfsense box...
