Just curious what it is and how it works.
Can us, potential customers order an IP Transit from lets say "Interoute?
Could anyone explain how it works and if it is any good?

I wonder if that might actually help with peering to servers especially those further away, basically I mean if it is any helpful to lower the latency?

As I understand it, a transit agreement is an arrangement that involves advertising routes from the wider internet to you which cross someone else’s network. So I believe it doesn't generally apply to mere mortals like us. Someone who speaks BGP might tell you otherwise, for all I know.
