Title: Hello!
Post by: William Grimsley on February 03, 2016, 06:08:23 PM
Hello everyone,

I've posted a few posts already but thought I'd fully introduce myself albeit a bit late.

I'm 17, live in Newton Poppleford, Devon and have always had an interest in ICT as well as meteorology (that is what my website is about) since I was in Year 4 in primary school. Over the past few years, after having several line faults and having repeated Openreach engineer visits, I have gradually started to learn about lines as well as line stats and have known about the basics e.g. noise margin for about a year now, since having BT Infinity installed on 27/04/2015. I'm currently completing a Level 2 NVQ in IT and plan to start my Level 3 NVQ in IT shortly. I am currently unemployed. But, I'm currently looking to work in some IT shops in the local area just for some unpaid work experience hoping to increase both my broadband and IT knowledge further. In the future, I hope to become a sole trader fixing IT/broadband faults in the comfort of people's homes.

Hope you enjoyed my introduction and any questions please feel free to ask!

Hi William

You've chosen the right place to learn (and give input), about your chosen profession. Nice to see a young fella who knows what he wants at 17yrs of age, and with aspirations as well. The very best of luck to you.  :) :)

Welcome William.

Your intro reminds me of my son at 17. He's now 41, and a self-employed IT provider/maintainer for homes and small business.

Hope you can do the same, and being on this forum will surely help.  :)

That sounds great. I can almost bet that I'll follow in his footsteps. Good on him!

I hope everyone is ok with my signature. My posts may be affected by the condition but hopefully not by too much.

Yes, there is no problem, otherwise Kitz, Roseway or I would have mentioned it in a PM to you.  :)

That's great. It's what makes me so interested in IT!
