Title: Zyxel VMG8324-B10A bargain
Post by: roseway on January 29, 2015, 03:50:52 PM
I happened upon this almost by accident. Eclipse are offering this model at £54.17 + VAT + delivery (£73.99) compared to ~£95 at the very few other outlets.

No, I've ordered one and the order has been accepted. You do have to register with them, but there's no commitment to buy anything else.

Still a bargain but you need to factor in VAT (site says all prices exclude vat) and with delivery it comes to around £75.

Yes, that is true, I wasn't paying proper attention. I've modified the posting.

Now if it were a 8924 then I'd go for one as well.

Good find eric.  Thanks for sharing as thats a good price.
I paid £111 for mine from broadbandbuyer when it first came out and that was the cheapest I could find at that particular time, so its nice to see that the price of vdsl modem/routers are slowly coming down in cost.

It is a shame these arent more widely available.  At first they were >£150 which was a tad over my budget.
The cheapest one of those I can now find is at kcom (https://www.kc.co.uk/products/add-ons/mytech/features/) which is listed as £99.  I think their prices normally include VAT but you have to add on p&p.
You may have to set up an account but I believe they do also sell to non-kc customers, as someone managed to get a VMG8324 from there when they were hard to get hold of.

That's interesting - KCom is the parent company of Eclipse.

Indeed they are :)

I believe some of the kcom units may be branded with their logo, but it doesnt affect the f/w.
Presumably the one you bought from Eclipse wont have the kcom logo on the bottom right?

No, I just wanted a second all-in-one option and it will be interesting to compare the two.

A few minutes after I posted that, it turned up three days earlier than expected. It's an unmodified Zyxel product with no ISP branding. I'll be installing it later today.
