I've responded to a couple of threads here about the TalkTalk branded DLink DSL-2780 router/modem, specifically that on the current firmware, some of the line stats are reported the wrong way round.
This is fixed in an update of the firmware, which is linked to in the first post of this thread on the TalkTalk members forum http://talktalkmembers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=83991 (http://talktalkmembers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=83991)
I've been running this firmware for a while, and not had any problems with it.
There's also TalkTalk updates for the DSL-2680, Huawei HG520b and Huawei HG532 as well as the DSL-2780.
(and, should you want, there's copies of the original "current" firmwares there too.)

Thank you for that information, SI.
I don't suppose you know where I might find the latest firmware (or even the sources thereto) for the Huawei SmartAX MT882 that TalkTalk were providing back when I joined, in 2007, please?

Sadly, no. I know nothing about that modem, I'm mostly familiar with some of the quirks of the DSL-2780. I'd not even heard of the SmartAX MT882 before you mentioned it :-[

No worries. I just thought I'd ask. :)
There is a brief page (http://www.kitz.co.uk/routers/SmartAX.htm) on the main site for that device.

Thanks for the info, sheddyian,
The datasheets for the Dlink dsl-2680 and dsl-2780 have been re-discovered.
They are now hosted below, together with the firmware images you found, and some other 'odds n sods' - flash dumps, PCB photos, etc..
