Insipid and totally uninspired , surely they could have done better than this.

You would have thought they would have had a 3D rotating/moving image then we would know when to Ctl-Alt Delete :)

Looks like they are modelling W8 on their Windows phone interface.
I have a Windows phone and find it pretty good tbh 8)

They have quite a cast of characters from whom to choose to present their product launch - http://www.thechestnut.com/play2.htm (http://www.thechestnut.com/play2.htm)
My favourite would be Brian Cant - he of the harlequin shirt.

The main thing is how it performs not what it looks like,we shall have to reserve judgement till it arrives.
No matter what Microsoft does it will always get shot down in flames.
You can please some of the people some of the the time..........etc

Oh , it performs alright but you may well find that you need to update hardware and software, it is different. The new Avast7 beta seems to run well on the preview version. You can doenload the preview if you want , the Win8 Beta should be here soon too.

Having used the Windows 8 Developers Preview for a little while now I can confirm that seems to be the direction.
It's horribly "retro" and very awkward on a non-touchscreen system, but I guess far from finished. :'(
Fortunately there are 3rd-party mini-apps that can switch off the so-called "Metro" interface and get you back to a more normal desktop that you can use with mouse and keyboard. :graduate:
That said, one of the systems I'm running it on is a pretty old and limited Dell desktop and it's working fine.
