Do I gather that he's the boss of AAISP? That's what his profile seems to indicate.

The images as they appeared on Kitz.co.uk............who created them ?

Were they taken specifically for this site and watermarked as such....or were they freely available from the web ?

He is the owner of AAISP and as such he should know better.

The images themselves were donated to Zen by a customer and then we were given the Ok to give the Images to Kitz for use on her site. I made a point of bringing this to all our attention as AAISP make such a fuss about BT and the sockets have been in use now for at least 12months if not longer.

Indeed.
I gained permission before publication of the pictures and give full acknowledgement to the source.

I'm disgusted at the response, and would have expected much better behaviour from the owner of an ISP.

Despite the denial, he knows quite well what hotlinking is fully aware of the circumstances.

This had been brought to his attention on the 25th of Feb, and by the time it came to my attention on the 27th it was still displaying the images without credit to the original source as can be proved from captured image of google cache 26 Feb 2010 20:17:07 GMT.

The crux of the matter was that he was displaying images from another site without proper credit or permission. How many people looking at that site notice the http headers and know where the images really come from?

When confronted with this he goes into petty attack mode.  I am not sure what he means about direct quotes copied from the A+A status page.. its certainly not anything that Ive done, as I will always give a reference to the source.  After a quick look, the item which I assume he is complaining about is walters post here which was discussing the AAISP SS page in a positive light and made it fairly clear that it was an article on the aasip site without any attempt to hide the original author.

All we were asking for was the article to carry proper acknowledgement of the image sources.. wouldnt have been too hard would it?

Gentlefolk,

I have found the AAISP site quite useful upon occasion and have probably quoted from it more than once.
Although it is possible I have forgotten occasionally, I always try to illustrate a short extract by copying and pasting text from the page my browser is displaying (or very occasionally by taking a screen picture) but also I try to give the direct link to that page. Apart from proper ethics, I like to do so in case I've misinterpreted something so that others can view the original data in its totality.

If I have transgressed at any time please accept my sincere apologies.

Kind regards,
Walter

I don't think you have anything to apologise for, Walter. You acknowledged the source and provided a link to it.

I quite agree.

IMHO this just appears like the childish action of someone who knows they are in the wrong, but decides to cover that up by slinging something back :/
