But while reading through the Talk Talk forum... Just stumbled upon a fantastic Tip!

You know how annoying and costly it can be to have No Choice but to phone a number such as 0870 - or - 0845 - or - 0844  

Well! ... This website gives you the alternative local number: http://www.saynoto0870.com/

Yesterday my son asked me to phone - Game .. To see if the Xbox game he wanted was in stock at the shop.
So I went on the Game website... But could only find one number for all stores: 08715940066
Ended up talking to a computer that simply said - " This game is available online and in our stores "
We went to our local Game store... No Xbox Game  
Got the shops direct phone number while we were there.
And luckily my son managed to get his Xbox game from ASDA

But if I had know about http://www.saynoto0870.com/ yesterday... It would have saved so much time and money.

Do they have a number you can dial from outside the UK?

If so use that.

It has been on this site before but this time I have bookmarked it  .

What I have done the other week when I opened a new account with a building society and needed to phone them (who had a 0870 number ! )    I looked on there web site and found an 0800 (free) but that was for another department  but I dialled it anyway, then you got a menu .. press 1 for etc. But I did nothing   Then it put me through to an operator and I just ask for the department I wanted and got put through

@ Britbat......as soon as anyone finds an alternate number Sky blocks it. 

Its 5p a minute to call them no matter what day or time of day..All the numbers start with 08442

 British customer service at its very best
