Ah, you beat me to it.  Evil

http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/

I just came across a conversation on another forum talking about this web-site and there was/is only good comments and reports of it.

Just as a point of interest, it seems that the "Giveaway" programs are all FULL programs unless tagged as "Demo" in it's title bar. (possibly when installed "I don't know")

The main debate is whether you would be able to store the program for latter use or have to install before the giveaway expiry date and time, there are mixed views on this.

Any chance of you altering your topic heading to say something like:

Free Giveaway of the Day Software

At least that way if people are not particularly interested "Data Recovery Software" they may be more inclined not to skip past your initial post.

Done it OF... I think a lot of the stuff that's given away is the latest beta versions, so the developers can check all the comments from those who've tried it... I tend to wait till late afternoon or evening to see what the general feedback is like before I try anything.

Mmm, I never thought about it being Beta ware, which I try and avoid if possible.

Some software I am interesting to locate is for CCTV recording, which will also display the date and time.
Free preferably, or maybe a torrent .

I think I read in another thread that Soms did some CCTV recordings so maybe he will drop in here, or start another thread in the "Software" section with programs that can be recommend.

Most CCTV s/w really depends on what you are using for capture and it simply won't work on other hardware. That is is you're talking about multi-camera setups.

In my experience you'll struggle to find CCTV s/w which doesn't datestamp the video.

I don't want to hijack or take this thread off course, so I will start a new thread.
Thanks.

This is the link to the other thread.

The only problem is, you have to install the software from there on the day it is given away.  For example I had Aimersoft DVD ripper from there, which was excellent, but then my hard drive gave up the ghost, and I haven't seen it on there since - I try to remember to visit every day.  Of course I've not found a suitable Freeware ripper either... unless anyone knows different of course.

Maybe one day I'll bite the bullet and pay the $35 for it.

The main program I use is called "AutoGK" (Auto GordianKnot)

Main site http://www.autogk.me.uk
DL v2.45 stable http://www.autogk.me.uk/index.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=1

Very simple and easy to use, obviously you will need to select your preferred output folder and PAL or NTSC settings, which you can always change again at a later date if you wanted to say for arguments sake convert a movie to send to the States (USA or Canada).

Possibly not the one of the quickest but very good and reliable.

1. Just select the "FIRST" Vob (or IFO) file (for me the IFO never seems to work, so I chose the VOB option).
2. Select the output folder and name the saved file.

3. Select the size of the file to be created.
3a Predefined, (1 CD = ) (2 CDs = Splits the file into 2 files )
3b Custom, Select 1401, this will create a file larger than 1400MB and keep the best quality, usually around 1.4GB.

4. Select, Add Job.
5. Click Start.

As simple as that.

Go away and have a rest for 2 - 3 hours, but this time obviously depends on your PC spec.

Next  laugh
