Chipsets that allow CO vs CPE switching?
« on: March 29, 2016, 02:44:27 AM »

Does anyone know of any consumer grade kit that can switch modes? Years ago we had some sponsorship from (I think)/zxyel who provided two experimental vdsl boxes which we  trenched a pair over a festival site and had one modem as master and one as CPE and it worked a treat. Looking to do something this summer and the man at the company that helped us out is no longer about. So I'm thinking what hardware chipsets allow mode switching ? Anyone know of consumer grade gear I can "repurpose" ?

Cheers

A Planet VC-230N may be switched from CPE to CO mode.

How about making use of a pair of Planet VC-201A (or other make) media converters?

thanks both for the replies - ill keep that in mind as they do the job. was hoping that maybe something in the mountain of old dsl routers we have would do the job so its more reading then if that fails ill get one of the two suggested devices
