New DSLAM firmware?
« on: April 22, 2015, 11:35:03 PM »

My router reports DSLAM/MSAN type as BDCM:0xa48d / v0xa48d. Up to yesterday it had been reporting as: BDCM:0xa32f / v0x32f . Is it new DSLAM firmware or rather new DSLAM? I've also noticed, my router reports upstream particular tones SNR, up to yesterday it had not been reporting.

Best regards

I do not think that is indicative of a firmware upgrade but suspect that the line card has been swapped out -- possibly for a newer revision.

The other, but less likely, reason would be a swap over to a different DSLAM.

If you could have access to the appropriate technical people at your ISP then they would be the ones to ask.

Unfortunately my ISP gives information about technical details with reluctance. I suspect they swapped DSLAM line cards so as to enable G.INP. But I have G.INP disabled.

I am afraid we will not be able to answer this question. As bk said, best thing to do would to be to get onto somebody at your ISP.

I'd agree with b*cat.   It looks like a new line card.
